Everything begins with you. You are the writer, and your work will come back to you with your own voice intact. Your writing is your heart on paper, and any change to that authorial self would be an error. But as a writer, you know that your greatest challenge is conveying your voice to your reader in the clearest way possible. That’s where an editor comes in: an editor will take your writing and reveal the best parts of it to present to your audience.
Write. That’s the most important part.
When you have everything on paper, send Scripta Edits an email with this information: the length of your work, the style or type of editing you are looking for, and how quickly you need it returned to you.
Send a short sample for us to edit. For a smaller project, this may be a paragraph, and for a longer manuscript, it may be 3-5 pages. With your input on what level of editing you are looking for, we will provide a sample edit at no charge.
Receive your sample edit and price estimate.
If you are satisfied with the scope, editing, and estimate, receipt of 50% of payment will start the full edit and serve as acceptance of the terms stated.
The edited document is sent back to you. Review it, accept or reject suggestions, and answer any queries. Don’t forget to keep “track changes” on! Send this back to your editor.
Your editor will let you know when your clean copy is ready. Pay your balance, and the clean copy and style sheet will be sent to you.
At the end of the editing process, the writer will have:
Original Manuscript
Edited Draft
Clean Copy of Manuscript
Style Sheet
If you’re happy with our proposal and editing, we can get started immediately. Our specialty is accurate speed and communication, so you can rest assured we will meet any deadlines with ease.
